Territorio is a seat that facilitates contemporary leisure and work activities by affording space to keep essential objects and tools in immediate reach. Combining optimal features from coffee tables, beds, benches and chairs, Territorio achieves high functional performance and versatility. The seat surface, made with self-skinning polyurethane foam, provides comfort, is firm enough to work on, and features a raised lip on its perimeter that keeps objects from falling off. Bags and coats may be hung on the back structure, which can also be engaged as a backrest if one chooses to climb onto the seat. The front wall distinguishes the space in front of Territorio from the space behind it, producing a visual effect that is comforting in public. This wall also defines an area underneath Territorio that may be used as storage in domestic settings. At home, Territorio serves a variety of purposes, from offering a place to send an email, relax, or tie one's shoes to providing space to keep coats and books. In public, Territorio is a landing pad where one may rest with vital belongings safely and conveniently at one's side. The seat is generous enough to be shared with a friend.
